Product Information:
A sketch bot is a robotic portrait artist that draws custom sketches of your guests in minutes. Guests snap a photo at the tablet kiosk, the robot's arm takes over with a real marker, and a personalized portrait is ready to take home in about two minutes. It's part photo booth, part live art installation, and 100% the thing everyone will be posting about after your event.
Portland Partyworks proudly brings sketch bot rentals to the Portland metro area, Salem, Eugene, Bend, Vancouver, and throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Whether you're planning a corporate activation, a wedding reception, a trade show booth, or a school celebration, our sketch bots turn ordinary moments into art your guests will frame on their wall years later.

How Sketchbots Work
Step1: Snap a photo
Your guest steps up to the tablet and takes a quick selfie. They can choose different types of themes.
Step 2: Watch the robot draw
The Sketchbot picks up a real marker and starts sketching the portrait live. Guests love watching the drawing come together stroke by stroke – it’s mesmerizing and it makes a fantastic video for social media.
Step 3: Take home the keepsake
Corporate Events & Trade Shows
Drive booth traffic, capture leads, and give attendees a branded keepsake they’ll keep on their desk. Add your logo to the paper and watch engagement spike.
Weddings
A fresh alternative to the standard photo booth. Guests receive a personalized portrait sketch as a wedding favor — and you get unique drawings of everyone at your reception.
Company Picnics & Holiday Parties
Give employees something to talk about Monday morning. Add your company branding for an extra-memorable keepsake from the annual bash.
School Events
Graduation parties, school carnivals, prom, and field days. Students love the novelty, teachers love that it’s screen-free entertainment with a takeaway.
Fundraisers & Galas
A conversation-starter that pulls guests to your table or booth. Great for silent auctions and donor appreciation events.
Birthday Parties
Kids and adults go wild for watching the robot draw. Works beautifully for milestone birthdays, sweet sixteens, and quinceañeras.
Frequently Asked Questions About Sketchbot Rentals
What is a sketchbot?
A sketchbot is a robotic portrait artist that draws custom sketches of your guests at events. Guests take a photo at a tablet, and a robotic arm uses a real marker to draw their portrait on paper in about two minutes. Each guest takes home their finished sketch as a unique keepsake.
How much does it cost to rent a sketchbot in Portland?
Sketch bot rentals from Portland Partyworks start at $1,900. Final pricing depends on the number of robots (1 to 5 available), event duration, delivery location, and any custom design options like branded paper. Request a custom quote or call us at (503) 723-8300.
How long does it take a sketchbot to draw a portrait?
Each sketch bot completes a portrait in approximately two minutes. With up to five bots running at the same time, a single event can produce 100 to 150 portraits per hour depending on how fast guests line up.
How many sketchbots should I rent for my event?
For events under 75 guests, 1 or 2 sketch bots is usually enough. For 75 to 200 guests, 3 bots is the sweet spot. For 200+ guests or busy trade shows, we recommend 4 or 5 bots to keep wait times short.
Can sketchbots draw on custom backgrounds or branded paper?
Absolutely. We can print custom paper with your company logo, wedding monogram, or event theme. Popular themed options include Wild West “Wanted” posters, superhero templates, vintage portrait frames, and corporate-branded layouts. Let us know what you’re envisioning when you request a quote.
What kind of events are sketchbots best for?
Sketchbots shine at corporate events, trade show activations, weddings, birthday parties, school celebrations, holiday parties, company picnics, graduation parties, and fundraisers. They work particularly well whenever you want an interactive activity that doubles as a take-home favor.
How much space does a sketchbot need?
A single sketch bot station needs approximately 6′ wide by 8′ deep, including room for the robot, tablet kiosk, and a small guest queue. A 5-bot setup fits comfortably in about 10′ x 12′ of floor space. Each station requires one standard 110V electrical outlet.
Can you set up sketchbots outdoors?
Sketchbots are designed for indoor use. They need controlled lighting and protection from wind, moisture, and direct sunlight. For outdoor events, we can set them up inside a covered tent or an enclosed structure with stable lighting and power.
Is an attendant included with the rental?
Yes, every sketchbot rental includes a trained Portland Partyworks attendant. They handle setup, operate the tablet, assist guests, refill paper and markers, and troubleshoot anything that comes up during your event.
Do you deliver sketchbots outside the Portland metro area?
Yes. We deliver throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington, including Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend, Vancouver, and the Oregon Coast. We also travel to Seattle and Boise, Idaho for larger bookings. Travel fees may apply outside our primary service area.
How far in advance should I book a sketchbot?
We recommend booking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance, especially during peak event season (May through October and November/December for holiday parties). For weddings and large corporate events, 2 to 3 months lead time is ideal. That said, we’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when inventory allows.
